About this item
Adelagger is an organic hard cow's milk cheese from the Bavarian region of Germany. Its strong flavor is nutty, salty and acidic, but there is also a buttery quality that ties all the flavors together. The dark, rough rind is achieved through white wine and herb washings, which the cheese receives for 14-18 months. Adelagger is named after a nearby Alpine mountain area where the cows of some of the Isny farmers graze. The cheese is produced by a cooperative of 7 organic farmers who supply all the thermalized cow's milk.
